Discover Yeosu is a curated guide, and places in Yeosu open, move, and close. If an opening time is wrong, a restaurant has shut down, or a description needs correcting, email us and we will update it. Content in the app refreshes over the air, so corrections reach everyone without waiting for an app update.
No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no paywall. Open the app and everything is available.
Yes. Discover Yeosu is free to use.
Discover Yeosu needs an internet connection — listings, maps, and translations are fetched live. Check your connection or Wi-Fi, then close and reopen the app. If it keeps failing, email us with your device model and what you were doing.
Location is optional. It is used only to show how far a place is from you and to work out directions. Decline it and the rest of the app still works — you simply will not see distances.
The microphone is used only by the translator, and only while you are using its Speak button for spoken input. It is not used anywhere else in the app.
Open the Menu tab and tap "Ad privacy options" to reopen the consent form and change your answer at any time. You can also control app tracking in iOS under Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
There is no account, so we hold no profile for you. Saved favourites stay on your own device. Full details are in the privacy policy linked below. If you have a question about your data or want to make a request, email us and we will respond.
The translator works between Korean and any of the 186 languages in its language picker, so you can arrive speaking almost anything and still be understood. Type a sentence, or press Speak to dictate it, and show the Korean result to the person you are talking to; the swap arrows reverse the direction. Quick phrases collects the sentences travelers actually need — the English ones are answered straight from a phrasebook stored inside the app, so they work with no signal at all. Everything else is translated online, so the translator needs a connection.
The whole app — every screen, listing and description — is available in seven languages: English (EN), Japanese (JA), Simplified Chinese (CN), Traditional Chinese (TW), Spanish (ES), Russian (RU) and French (FR). Pick one from the language button in the header, which shows the two-letter code of the language you are reading — the app opens in English until you choose, and remembers your choice after that. Korean is not offered as an interface language, since the guide is written for visitors who do not read Korean, but the built-in translator covers 186 languages paired with Korean, and every listing carries its Korean name so you can show it to someone.
